South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) ranked among the top scoring trusts in the Adult Inpatient Survey!
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have published the results of the 2023 Adult Inpatients Survey, which shared the experiences of people who stayed at least one night in hospital as an inpatient.
SWFT achieved higher than average scores in the ‘Overall’ section where:
- Patients felt they were treated with kindness and compassion whilst in our hospital
- Patients felt they were treated with respect and dignity
- Patients scored their experience whilst they were in our hospital highly
- Patients rated us highly on areas such as receiving enough to drink whilst in hospital, having privacy during examinations or treatments, being treated with respect and dignity, having confidence and trust in the doctors, and understanding the information provided about post-hospital care.
Our Trust scored highly in the ‘Nurses’ category receiving an impressive overall score of 8.73, surpassing the average amongst 34 trusts:
- Patients felt there were sufficient nurses on duty to care for them
- They were actively included in discussions about their care
- Confidence and trust in the nurses
- Received clear, understandable answers to their questions
Chief Nursing Officer, Fiona Burton from South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust said: “Providing our patients with the best possible experience is important to our organisation, and I am thrilled that the results reflect the high quality care our Trust provides. These results will help us identify areas for improvement and enhance patient care and overall patient experience”
“We are already taking steps to address the reduction of noise at night and ensuring patients have clear, accessible information when leaving our hospital. This includes providing guidance on virtual wards, their care, medication, and treatment."
