Warwickshire Health Visiting is proud to announce that they have been awarded the prestigious UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold Accreditation. This accolade highlights their sustained commitment to supporting breastfeeding and infant feeding practices across the county, ensuring that families receive high-quality care and guidance from pregnancy through to the early years of their child’s life.

The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative is a globally recognised standard for improving infant feeding and parent-infant relationships. Achieving Gold Accreditation is the highest possible honour within the initiative, recognising sustained excellence in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding, as well as fostering close and loving relationships between parents and their babies.

Warwickshire Health Visiting and Infant Feeding service has worked diligently over several years to implement evidence-based practices that align with UNICEF’s stringent Baby Friendly standards. The Gold Award is a testament to their commitment to ensuring the very best for babies, parents, and families within the community. Warwickshire now join Solihull, and Coventry Health Visiting teams to obtain this award, which means all three services employed by SWFT are now Gold Baby Friendly accredited.

Speaking on the achievement, Carla Lovell-Roberts Infant Feeding Lead, said: “We are thrilled and honoured to receive the UNICEF Baby Friendly Gold Accreditation. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of staff, who strive every day to support families on their infant feeding journey. We believe that all families deserve the very best start in life, and this award is a wonderful acknowledgment of the impact our service is making.”

This achievement follows an intensive assessment process by UNICEF, which looked at the quality of care provided, the support systems in place, and the long-term improvements made to ensure families receive the best possible infant feeding advice and care.
