Started in November 2023, Warwickshire Wheelchair Service (WWS) are piloting a new referral screening system using a chatbot virtual assistant. Referred clients or their carers (as appropriate) receive a phone call from ‘Lola’ who will complete the referral screening process using a WWS approved protocol.
‘Lola’ is powered by empathetic artificial intelligence (AI) to complete fluent telephone referral screening conversations with clients or their carers, to establish which pathways they need to be on.
Please be assured that Lola has been implemented in accordance with NHS data protection and security standards, which means that any information shared is safe and protected.
